Afternoon All, Heres the Specs

Aorus B450M Motherboard
Ryzen 5 1600AF
16GB Patriot Viper Steel 3200Mhz RAM
500GB WD Blue M.2

OK So PC Boots to Bios no issues, When Im booting from USB with Windows Creator on it, I get BSOD. The error codes are pretty varied aswell. Ive formatted the USB on another PC and reinstalled a fresh Windows 10 on it. Still the same.....

Any help would be fantastic!

Hi Jackabamba,

Just to be sure, you obtained the Windows installation media from the Microsoft website? If so, you moved the Windows installation media onto your USB Drive?

Then if its a fresh PC, you should have no data to lose. Have gone into the BIOS and set the boot priority to the USB drive?

Could you also provide the BSOD error codes? These would be very helpful.

Thank you
Stefan

Hi! Yes used the tool on the MS website
The BSODs are pretty random:

KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED, 0x000021a
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
page_fault_in_nonpaged_area

Tried a new GPU aswell and still the same

Okay,

I'd start by ensuring all cables are firmly plugged in. RAM is firmly placed in their slots, including your SSD.

If everything seems great. The test again and if it occurs again, try the below:
> Remove GPU (not needed as of yet)
> Use only 1 RAM stick
> Only use 1 drive. I'm guessing the M.2 will be the new primary Drive so ensure this is the only drive inside the PC.
> Any Sound Cards remove.
> Only Mouse and Keyboard peripherals should be plugged in
> Ensure boot priority in the BIOS is set to the USB Drive.

If issue persists, change RAM stick. You could be experiencing faulty RAM Stick/s.

Its a brand new system with no copy of Windows, its pointing to a Hardware issue.

Let me know how you get on :)

Make sure your ram is in the correct slots, thats slots 2 and 4, also disable XMP if its enabled, just leave everything at stock settings.

If you have another USB stick that you can create another install setup of Windows 10 on, id also try that, make sure you are using the motherboard USB ports (round the back) not the front ones connected to a header.

Your graphics card is required as there is no on-board graphics on that CPU.

The AF edition RyZen CPU's have the newer cores, 12nm, but the older memory controllers from the first edition RyZen's, the reason AMD made these new ones in the first place with the better cores was because they had too many memory controllers left, but are no longer producing 14nm cores, however, anyone who used those first edition chips, also knows they struggled to run ram at 3200mhz, and most had to settle for 2933mhz, im not saying try and install windows with it at 2933mhz, just get windows installed with everything at default settings.

Ok Thanks guys, It was the RAM. Swapped it out for a set of Trident Z RGB I have in my stock pile and all good! Its either faulty or not compatible obviously. Ive tested the Viper ram in another B450i Wifi and an X570 Board and nothing...
