Hi,

this morning I tried in reinstall my graphics card drivers, (6800gt, agp, drivers 66.93), which have worked perfectly in the past, but each time my computer would BSOD.

Error message was: 0x0000007E (0xc0000005, 0x29B31DD0, 0xF78CE360, 0xF78CE05C)

My system is noted in my signature.

I realise I am giving you little to go on, but I'm pretty stuck knowing what extra I could supply to help the diagnosis. Please tell me, and I will supply what extra information I can.

Thanks for all help.

during the install?

Uninstall the old drivers (Add and Remove Programs...), reboot and reinstall, reboot and you should be okay.

Yes I got the error during the install, and the drivers fail to install.

I don't know if this will help, but I find this utility to be very useful:

http://www.neuber.com/taskmanager/index.html

It will show you exactly what is loaded and running in your system. I recently upgraded from a Radeon X850 to an Nvidia 8800GTS. I thought I'd been careful to uninstall all of the Radeon drivers and it looked as if I had on reboot. But Taskmanager displayed some bits of "shrapnel" still remaining (I forget what precisely) and I was able to remove those through taskmanager.

The (XT) drivers I'm using are the 101.02 with no problems. I hope this helps. :)

So, right now nvidia drivers 66.93 give me a BSOD, 93.71 (latest ones) give me an error during install ("error loading c:\windows/system32\nvcpl.dll invalid access to memory location") and this error also pops up on reboot.

I have at all times disabled my anti-virus before installing the drivers, tried safe mode uninstalls, and used drive cleaner pro.

I'd be very grateful if anyone has some suggestions how to get my 6800gt to accept some drivers. (Could this be a hardware issue?)
