BSOD on start up causing reboot linked to GPU

hey everyone i recently bought a gtx580 from here and its been great except for a problem that's been occurring recently. ever since the battlefield 3 beta ive been receiving a BSOD on start up i go through all the bios screens and before i get to the windows 7 logo a BSOD pops up saying that nvidia ndmkkm drivers have stopped responding...then it reboots and everything is fine. i can run program's like fur mark and use strenuous video apps without my cards temps getting over 80oc and without any crashes. So i thought that well the problems began with the beta drivers ill just roll back. so for a week i didnt see the error message ago but it started to happen again this morning... i know its a nvidia driver issue and no one else has found a reliable solution other then wait for the newest drivers nvidia are releasing soon and hope that fixes the issue. the common consensus among users is that its a power management issue caused by the drivers as people with weaker systems then mine report problems with things like using firefox and youtube so im worried that these BSOD's might actually be causing damage to my card as the specific error im getting is called live kernel event 41 “The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first” im at a loss as to what to do... any ideas?

If you have already researched this and know that you just need to be patient and wait for the new drivers... then you are just going to have to wait.

Dont stress about hurting your card man, it will be fine in the meantime.

yeahhh i mean at the end of the day its stable at strenuous tasks which is great and pretty much rules out hardware faults but its a bit worrying that im sometimes getting a BSOD before ive even logged into windows im worried it might break my system or something ya know?

have you tested your PSU???
i have had many BSOD's, just to find out it was actually the PSU..
sounds wierd i know.. seams the least obvious, but a lot of the time, it can be the problem

would not running strenous programs test the psu's ability to handle power different power demands. ive had my pc on for 18 hour stints sometimes with no problems? how else could i test it?

Bare in mind that a ndmkkm error doesn't actually mean its a GPU problem, the GPU is one of the most realtime intensive parts of the system so its often the first point of failure when there are general instability issues in the system, could be CPU overclock, failing RAM, PSU on its way out, chipset overheating (depending on system) and so on just as easily as it is a GPU software/hardware issue.

if it was a hardware issues wouldn't it be happening all the time rather then intermittently? all the hard ware in this pc is under 4 months old as well and is still under warranty from OC too so... im hoping its not a hardware issue and seeing as how other nvidia users began getting this issue with the same drivers makes me hope its a driver issue... gah this is frustrating.

So which drivers ARE you using?

ive tried the 275.33 and the 280.26 both of which were stable until i used the bf3 beta drivers. for example ive just turned my comp on after its been off for a while which is when the BSOD occurs and it hasnt showed up

turns out it was my optical drive.... whenever i had a dvd in there the activity light would blink and it would make a lot of noise during boot until the BSOD popped up. when i start with no disc inside no problems. i really think this is the answer seeing as how the comp runs fine after booting up heh.
