BSOD on startup with this eror message

According to a search for "0x0000008e" it has something to do with memory:

CAUSE
This behavior may occur if one of the following conditions is true:
• One or more of the random access memory (RAM) modules that are installed on your computer are faulty.

Edit*

Im not sure if this could be the problem but after some more searching i found an interesting post about a virus that can cause this BSOD and error and rebooting PC, is your pc rebooting on its own? did you happen to click on any files got through msn?

Its always worth a try LINK

Cheers for the reply.

I had a play around with the RAM, swapping sticks etc and no luck, so in the end reinstalled vista, and it seems to be fine now (touch wood!)

Now I just have to reinstall everything else...
