Ello. I turned my PC on as usual yesterday and started to get BSODs. Windows (XP Pro SP2) boots normally, however as soon as I log into one of the user accounts I get the BSOD saying a hardware error has occured if this is the first time its happened restart. However I restarted several times and still no luck. I can login in safemode without any trouble where I ran a spyware and Virus scan which both came up clean. I then got an error explaining sytem32/driver/kbdcalling.sys (i think) was missing or currupt, on closer inspection I found out this was a keyboard driver. This seemed odd to me as the keyboard was clearly working at the login screen as I typed in my password! Also I checked and found that it was present when I logged in in safemode. I have a second PC running the same version of Windows, could I do a crude copy/paste this file to fix it? Also are there any programmes or lists I can use to find out what a 000000000X89 (example!) error is as these error codes mean nothing to me! There must be a way of finding out what these are like LED errors on motherboards.

Cheers

I've been getting the following error codes

0X0000008E (0XC0000005, 0X80635479,0XAABD499C, 0X00000000)

On googling I have come across 2 results, the first is dodgy memory and the second is overclocking failure. I've since changed the memory configuration and reset the BIOS to 'Fail-safe' settings and still no joy. To make matters worse safemode no longer loads. :(
