Hi all. Any ideas?
I get Blue Screen of death OR reboots, only when gaming in the new Call of Duty - Advanced Warfare game. I've never had any game do this on my system. I've been running on the same overclock/drivers for over a year with no problems, and it played last years COD fine. Is this game much more intensive, or is this coincidental?
I updated graphics drivers to latest and it still does it.

I'm running an older socket 775 system. The game runs fine and then without warning just BSOD's or reboots. I got a mini dump crash file before with code 124. Having googled and read about this, it seems this is a generic code for "a hardware error" occured. I get no artifacts in the game before the crash. I have ran mem test overnight with the overclock on and memory all passes fine.

q9450 stock 2.66ghz - overclocked to 3.4ghz
16gb ram (4x4GB ram)
MSI 7850 2GB
Enermax Revolution 650w PSU
Motherboard cant remember, Asus I think

Have you checked the BSOD file for the exact error code?

You could also try running OCCT for 30 mins or so to see if its PSU/GPU related!

Cheers snips, yeah on my list of to do tonight is to run CPU stress test and check temps. I will also post up the full dump. To be honest though, I think it just reports ntoskrnl.exe as the fault which I think it will do as that's the kernel crashing as a result of a different hardware error.

If we can get the exact error code of the BSOD we could assist further.

Other than reseatin the RAM to ensure it's fit properly there's no much else we can help with til then.

Hi guys here's a screen shot of the BSOD. Like I say, the 124 error apparently is a generic hardware error? Also some people on these forums in a search state that 124 has been linked to overclock and requiring more vcore. Not sure about that. About to run an OCCT stress test to see what happens....

I think this may possibly have just been bad temps on CPU. Not sure at the mo. Need more testing. I cleaned all my dust filters and temps went down about 10 degrees under load...
