I've had the same machine working for just over a year now, a few windows reinstalls etc along the way. But about 10 mins ago while randomly surfing the forums it came up with a bsod saying PFN_list_corrupt completely randomaly, and now its looping on boot flashing a bsod and rebooting while on the windows load screen. Safe mode doesn't load either

Normally I'd just instantly reinstall windows, except on the drive in question I have some holiday pics that I've not been able to back up (external left at uni) so they're of quite big importance...

Any suggestions?

Machine spec:
2x 3800+ skt939
asus a8n32-sli deluxe
Maxtor diamondmax 250gb, with windows install and the pics
2gb ocuk value ddr ram
Seagate 7200.10
nvidia 7800gt
Creative X-Fi soundcard
on a FSP 500w
running windows xp home

Got this before on mine it's the page frame number list, or some such, and some buggy driver mucked it up on me however, mine did boot. Possibly remove non-essential hardware like a soundcard etc. Did you install anything recently hardwarewise?

Most recent thing I added was a sound card, but only as a replacement of a faulty one, and that was about a month ago atleast

Hi not sure about your problem, but if you do a reinstall over the top of your OS and do not! reformat your pics should all still be in the folder or location as before, I have done this for clients on many occasions to recover data before a new reformat and install hope this helps.

You got two sticks in there? Take one out and try a boot and see if you can get into windows. If not, try the other stick? If you can get any without the BSODs on one of those sticks, then its ya ram faulty!
