Salutations, bit of a story here so bare with me; about two weeks ago I downgraded my motherboards BIOS. The reason I did this was because I had read from numerous sources that the older version of the BIOS allowed for lower voltages with the sandy bridge processors. The later BIOS which added support for IVY meant that your voltages needed to be raised. I thought what the hey and downgraded and after a shocking realization that gigabyte motherboards require a reformat after being flashed I managed to get my system running on lower voltages (and getting my ass in gear with backing up my work). So at first I was having some stability issues mainly regarding temps and getting the correct voltage and LLC. So about a week ago I got the perfect settings, I have it clocked at 4GHz instead of 4.6Ghz due to cooling restrictions (This will be sorted out later this year) and now every now and then I seem to get the dreaded BSOD. The code's it's firing at me however are not CPU voltage related and mostly RAM related codes such as 0xD1 and 0x50. One last thing to know about my RAM, I need to overclock it to get it to run at stock speeds otherwise it runs at 1600Mhz. So I need to set a SPD of 2133 and input the channel timings myself, now with my old (latest) BIOS these errors were never an issue but now I'm getting a lot of blue screens. One last important detail the blue screens only happen either during or just as I quit a game or click to shutdown the operating system. Never when Idling, watching a movie or listening to music/using large applications such as photoshop.
I know a potential fix is to switch back to my other BIOS, but I'm far too busy at the moment to do that and when I do get some free time I want to spend that playing games with friends not reformatting, so any help or ideas would be much appreciated.
