Got my new gear this week got it up and running no prob, but then it started occasionally giving me a BSOD.

System is..Asus P5Q-pro
Intel E8500
Asus ATI 4870
4Gb Corsair dominator pc8-500
Vista 64

Chipset/gfx drivers updated to latest version, windows fully updated.
BSOD first happened while installing spore, then happened again when i went into firefox for the first time, and just happened again while installing WoW.

Only message ive been able to grab off the BSOD before it flashes off is "System code or critical component alteration detected", or something to that effect, cant remember the exact wording, any ideas??

Also, on a side note, under the SPD tab in CPU-Z, my memory is showing as pc6-400, should i look into that?

Are you overclocking at all.
Your memory will read pc 6400, you need to check the memory tab and check that it is reading 533mhz.

Try running prime or Orthos to check for stability and download mem-test to check your ram to rule out any possible hardware problems.

OK,im gonna bump this, BSOD prob seems to be back again except im getting a variety of errors.

I still get the "Modification of a system code or critical data structure was detected" error, aswell as System_Service_Exception, and now WoW has started to crash out randomly.
Ran the mem check on the vista CD, it didnt pick up anything on a standard test, but found an error on an extended one,at which point the test froze so I dont have a log or anything.
Im guessing my memory's screwed then and RMA is the way forward?

Try the memory test with 1 stick of ram, then the other stick to see if it works fine with one stick, if one fails then its RMA time.
