recently i've been getting quite a few BSoD's (four or five in the past couple of weeks). normally i wouldnt bat an eyelid at the odd one these days but now that i've had a few i figured i'd ask you guys if there was anything i should be doing about them.

i've only recorded the name of the last BSoD that i got and it was PFN_LIST_CORRUPT. i've noticed that they seem to happen when i'm playing minecraft with half a billion mods installed with MultiMC. if i get the same thing again is there anything i should be doing about it?

moving MultiMC i can do, reinstalling it would be a royal pain in the arse because of all the separate instances, mods and config files i'd have to back up and get working again

I just had another BSoD, all i caught was "memory management" before it went away again (memory management was written where PFN_LIST_CORRUPT was before) so i think memtest is due a run. i've also noticed that, since the recent update to match the servers at minecrafts end, MultiMC hasnt been closing itself properly despite me clicking the cross and has been eating an entire core of processing power.

is there any way i can limit MultiMC to use less than 1GB of memory, just in case its eating all my RAM because of a bug? i have 2GB put aside for Minecraft because its so shoddily written so if MultiMC is using the windows default limit its possible that MultiMC and Minecraft could be using close to their limit, leaving very little room for windows itself (i only have 4GB RAM)

How are you assigning RAM to Minecraft specifically?

MultiMC has an option to assign RAM amounts to minecraft. i know there's a way of doing this on vanilla minecraft but i cant remember how. i have it set as minimum 1GB and maximum 2GB because i know how much minecraft likes to eat RAM, especially with mods. if my tekkit experience is anything to go by then leaving it at the default 1GB would give me all of two minutes of play before an out of memory error from minecraft
