Hi guys, unfortunately i'm lost.

Last night Firefox started crashing randomly, i just assumed the install had corrupted somehow so finished what i needed to do using IE (which ran perfectly). I then settled down to watch a film.

About halfway through the film skipped and then a BSOD (first BSOD i've had in a long, long time). After that the computer requested to scan the OS drive which froze as the counter reached 1. I then attempted to skip the scan, however windows ran terribly and eventually locked up completely.

I dug out my windows disk this morning and repaired the installation which said it needed to repair the file system. This took around 30 mins and the computer now boots, however the SSD performance is TERRIBLE. If i scan my computer using security essentials it goes incredibly slow and i'm unable to launch other programmes, Firefox crashes randomly (it crashed twice while halfway through typing this). When the computer locks up the HDD activity light is on solid, after some time the computer will begin responding again.

I've performed a disk check that, while slow, gave no errors. I've never encountered anything like this so i'm lost.

SMART data if it helps:

I had this with my previous build, tried everything, hdd tests came up clean, but just out of curiousity i replaced the drive, and all seems to be well at the moment.

maybe worth trying a different hdd?
