Hi guys,

I've recently built a new computer and have had it for around 3 weeks.

It's only occured about 3 times since i've had it but i've been receiving a BSOD and then restarts the computer within 3-5 secs of showing this BSOD

I have a minidump if anybody understands these but i'm not sure how to open these files.

The computer consists of the following:
AMD Phenom II X3 720 @ Stock
Gigabyte MA-GA790XT-UD4P
4GB OCZ Platinum DDR3 1333Mhz @ 7-7-7-20 1.8v
XFX 1GB Radeon HD 4870

I'm running Vista Ultimate x64

Any help is appreciated :D

Goto Control Panel > System > Advanced System Settings > Advanced (Tab) > Startup and Recovery and untick option 'automatic restart'. This should allow you to view the details of the BSOD and possibly find out what is causing the problem.

Thanks for your replies,

Unfortunately the minidump has disappeared somehow, but I was able to catch a bit of the BSOD which stated something like 'Driver IRQ not less or equal' and it seems it may have been by Realtek LAN drivers so i've reinstalled them and see what that does.

*Fingers crossed*

The Realtek drivers caused issues for me as well. You've downloaded the latest versions now I take it?

I currently have installed driver version 6.218

In my device manager it's listed as Realtek RTL8168D/8111D PCI-E GBE NIC

Hmm I gave you the wrong link by mistake.

That's the same card I have, and I had the exact same problems with Vista 32 and 64 using the built in driver. The latest version is 6.222, I'm using 6.218 myself and it works fine but the newest one is probably worth a try too.

edit: I've updated to 6.222 and my PC didn't blow up so it's all good :p.
