BSOD :( ::Solved::

Hi all,

In the last three days pc has hit a BSOD twice and i'm a little stuck on what it could be. Both times it happened i was doing nothing intensive, one was watching a film, the other was looking at a PDF. Rig in Sig.

I would normally fun folding at home on 25% of CPU and have done this for months. Just stopped last week as i wanted my pc a little quieter while i revise for exams. OC settings are x46, 100 BCLK, 1.335V fixed voltage, powersave settings are disabled.

I have tested all 16GB of my ram on memtest.

EDIT: I have just noticed this morning that on the ASRock splash screen and on the mobo, it takes abnormally long on several numbers...

98- console input devices conneted
99- super IO initialosation
9C- usb detect
B4- usb hot plug

These are what the manual have to say about the error code, it literally takes about 4 minute on code B4 so maybe the mobo super IO chip is broken? If

I thought it was only these two that would case a BSOD, but im guessing not...

Help! :p

I was daft enough not to take down the BSOD code.

My system has now failed to boot three times this morning... everytime time it sits on error code B4. :(

Now it boots again, but still extremely slowly. Tried taking out sound card, wireless adapter, usb 2 and 3 front i/o cables and stil boots slow. Must be sdd or hdd that is making boot slow?

B4 in the manual says "USB hot plug".

Health status on HDtune says OK for my 3TB Hitachi,

M4 Crucial says health status n/a...

Just noticed XAI mouse causes issues with it... Bought one recently! What a ridiculous thing to make a pc BSOD?!?! Bios update should sort it out. Will post again after update

I am making the assumption that 1.20 will include all the benefits of 1.10 too? would be pretty stupid if it didnt?

BIOS completely over-writes everything, it's an update in that it's better, but it's not just tacking some info on the old one it's literally replacing it all.

Ye i knew it would overwrite the current bios, just wasn't sure if it would contain the same updated features. apparently it does, all seems to be fine now. will be running a dismal 4.2 OC until my watercooling is ready.
