This weekend i upgraded my PC and ever since ive been getting BSOD. They happen when the OS is loaded and i can be doing anything from installing to opening a browser.

One of the screen dumps shows if page_fault_in_nonpaged_area.

My google search indicates that this can be related to defective RAM. Any ideas?

We need full specs to help!!!

I would start by testing with mem test booted from USB stick with XMP enabled.

Make sure you remove all overclocks before testing.

OK - i7-4770k - Z87x-OC - 16gb TeamGroup Vulcan - Phanteks CPU cooler

All stock

will try memtest tonight. Was going to use my old RAM that i know worked to see if i get same error

Thanks for your reply

Load XMP should do it all for ya. Then check primary timings and speed is correct. Set DRAM volts to 1.65v

It is the first port of call with this issue yes. Set up your RAM correctly and see how you go.

Having another issue. The new RAM arrived and was working fine for a few days but now i keep getting BSOD on boot up. I took 1 stick out and everything worked fine again so i thought it was defective RAM again. Before sending it back i tested what i thought was the broken stick in the slot that was working and i was able to boot without issue. So then i thought the MB was broken but when i put the ram in another slot that i hadn't used before i got the BSOD again. I reset the bios back to default and got the same issue

Any suggestions??

Hi Pisto,

What is your memory configuration? Are you using 4x4 or 2x8? I've read somewhere that the Gigabyte boards can have issues when using all 4 memory slots. If this is the case I would suggest running it with just 2 and see if you get the same error. Otherwise ignore me :D
