Now bt are going on about "free" uk calls at the weekend fair enough

But they are increasing evening calls by a stupid amount (5p to 65p for a hour)

So how do you change providers and what drawbacks are there? Was looking at sky which is £5 a month which some how includes NZ calls which is where parents r so be brill

(i know i still have to pay bt the rental)

"from 4.5 pence for calls up to an hour, to 1.5 pence per minute and a 6p set-up fee will apply." So a call for 60mins now costs 96p if I understand that pdf right? What's UK5? :p

Actually.. it'll cost 96p per hour, not 65p.. that's absolutely disgusting! (Changing from 4.5p per hour, to 1.5p per minute with a 6p setup fee)

My bad i cant add correctly! and bloody hell, i thought 65p was enough so that means if i made 5 1hour calls in the evening it be cheaper paying sky for unlimited calls! Seems crazy tbh.

Sky also do line rental Ste_Bla - not too sure if this would suit you or not but further information can be found here

Hmm thats seems good so getting the line rental with them would save a bit also, i'll give them a call later

How about... just pay the line rental and get Skype or some other VoIP phone thing.. very cheap calls..

I tried that a while back but with my rubbish ISP and 1/2 meg connection it wasn't the best, plus then I would want to buy some skype wireless phone sets which means it would take near on a year to break even (unless they are below £50 now?)
