BT ADSL dropping with Draytek 2820 but ok with BT Router

I have BT Business ADSL with a static IP. Over the past few days the connection speed has dropped. BT engineer came out on Thursday and said line was great. He swapped my draytek 2820 to a BT Homehub v3 to test and managed to get 11Mb download rather than 8Mb on the draytek.

Could there be an issue with my Draytek or the settings I'm using? I was under the impression that if the settings are not right then it won't connect at all? What settings may need changing to get the 3Mb down that I'm missing?

Could the router be failing?

Thanks

my experience of drayteks over multiple sites including my home is that they sync at lower speeds than other modems. When I was on adsl a 2820/30/60 would sync at 3-4Mb whereas a billion would sync at 5Mb plus on the same 6db line.

Thanks guys, Firmware was updated a few days ago but stupidly installed the 232201 Modem code rather than the 2471201. Connection is better in terms of reliability but still not getting anywhere near what I want.

****ing hate the Draytek's. Massive piece of ****.

All I can suggest is firmware without running seeing some hop tests or looking at the interface.
