Oh yer sync at 8128, problem is for the last 7 days my downloads have been a joke, even going as low as 66k, it's totaly random- no way i can get an average speed check.
Only 3000 phone lines where i live, exchange has no overload problems
tbh I think i should have stuck at 2 meg as was before.

Have you read the topics on this? For 10 days BT run a system at the exchange that will determine what the max stable rate of your line will be and then they will cap it at that speed. Thats whats to blame for the connection issues you are having.

From what I understand mate the BT system determines your best stable sync rate not your best download rate.

The BT system should monitor your diconnections and snr and try and get the best connection sync speed that keeps the snr above 6db any lower and there tends to be problems.

The fact that people are having speed problems like the one mentioned here is nothing to do with BT's system determining the best speed.
 
I thought it was capped at 2meg for approx 3 days before it starts to match the data rate with the sync rate?

Either way those download speeds are far too low...what do you get around 12-1am? Best time to check to see if it's ISP or exchange contention.

Have you tried the BT Speedtest as well, which bypasses the ISP systems?

Wrong. It's supposed to set your download rate to equal your sync rate to the nearest half Mbps. The rate adaption doesn't have any learning going on, other than if you're losing synch frequently it'll switch interleaving on.

As suggested, the BT Speedtest is your friend.

ahh right but what I was getting at is that the BT system won't for example sync you at 8128 everytime but play with you download rate. i.e. it won't sync at 8128 then over a period of 5 days start < > your donwload speed. Insted it would disconnect you and re-sync at a different speed then try and set your download speed to within 500k of your sync speed. This is all excluding the BRAS problem.

Or am I totaly wrong here ?
 
over weekend my upload is able to reach 50 when about 28 was max but my download is going half of what it used to be capable of on 2meg rather annoying but it only been 4 days so far hoping it will improve
 
mines very slow as well, since my regrade im syncing at 8192 but my download rate is around about 100k/sec where as when i was on 2mb used to get 200k easily.

got regraded on the 12th :(
