BT Broadband Issues

Hi there,

Just got off the phone to a friend who is having problems with his BT Broadband. They mistakenly cancelled his account, however now claim to have re-activated and even had an engineer out at the exchange to do this.

He is using a netgear router, which indicates that it is picking up an ADSL connection. The built-in test on the router config page does not appear to work - it is supposed to connect to the netgear website and fails to do this.

He is unable to ping any web addresses (Able to ping and access his router fine) or access the internet.

I have advised him to get BT to confirm his logon credentials and enter them into the router.

Any other suggestions in case this doesn't work?
