I'm not sure if it's just me, but my BT Broadband line has become nearly unusable the last three nights.

It appears to be working fine, MSN is working without a problem and WoW seems to connect without a problem. However webpages take ages to open and any download doesn't go any faster than 30k/sec.

Once in WoW there's a 4-5 sec lag on any actions or chat.

I've tried the usual reboots of both PC and Modem and also phoned the service line. Although there are issues on the BT network, my area, Hemel Hempstead - 01442, isn't one of those listed.

I've also run the Connectivity Test on the Home Hub and found that although it's connecting to the exchange, there's a problem with the main BT Gateway and their DNS servers.

I'm guessing this is the root cause, but until I can speak to BT tomorrow I thought I'd post on here to see if I'm all alone with this issue.

I'm about 1.5-2km from the exchange which isn't that far these days.

I've run a few different speed tests and they all comfirm that my connection (for the BT Max Package) is shocking.

For example....

Results:
Code:
Last Result:
Download Speed: 238 kbps (29.8 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 305 kbps (38.1 KB/sec transfer rate)

And the old trusting ADSLGuide tester.

From both of those tests it's clear that my "up to 8meg" line isn't even getting 0.5meg :(
