BT Broadband Users help

Hi im about to be connected on option 3 on BT Broadband and have just learned after several hours online researching that BT will cap you when you exceed 100GB in downloads.(Wish i had looked into this before)
What i would like to know if i download after midnight for a few hours will this count towards my 100GB for the month,or does the cap effect me if i download during peak times and go over my so called unlimited 100GB?.

Please dont turn this thread into a BT are rubbish as i know they are far from perfect.

You will have to call up BT and ask.

It wouldnt matter if you download after midnight. Its all the same you have a total monthly limit on 100Gb, thats 24 hours a day it doesnt just turn off after peak hours..

Its 100gb anytime, they say its still unlimited as you can still use bband its just restricted to 1mb peak times (5pm-midnight I think), it also buggers your pings etc when capped and often caused my router to reboot/crash

I have just left BT bband and moved to sky as got sick of the 100gb caps! my 2 boys game between 5 and 10pm and they couldnt play at all with the 1mb cap

at 1st they will remove the cap when you ring em, they also send you a message when you hit 80gb, usually this is after you have hit it and theres nowt worse than have to limit what you do for the next week or 2!!!!

I was getting my bband for free aswell being a BT employee but opted to move to sky unlimited which costs me a whole £10 a month and I dont have to worry about being capped etc!!

Yeah, the cap is a bit of a pain - it's "around" 100gb, the amount does depend on where you are; I got capped at 60gig, and was informed that it was "congestion on my exchange, so we needed to cap you sooner".

The pings were very varied after being capped - even with the connection to myself, where once pings of 30-40 were the norm, 100-ish became more likely.

And yes, the time of day didn't matter, the counter keeps counting 24/7.

Basically, it's witchcraft.

They cap me after 30gb transfer per month even on op 3 unlimited =/
And its impossible to argue it over the phone as you only get to speak to muppets (Foreign or otherwise).
