I've been with BT Broadband (option 3) for quite a while now and I've been very happy with it, I use it for work 9+ hours a day and do my share of downloading and I've never had a problem. My contract comes up for renewal shortly and I had a phone call this morning from a lady who offered me the following:
Reduction in broadband price to £19.99 a month (£5 per month off)
£2 per month off our line rental.
Free new BT Home Hub (the 802.11N one)
Free BT Vision box
All for a 12 month contract I was going to renew anyway.
I know some people have bother with BT Broadband but I guess I'm one of the lucky ones who's speed very rarely drops below the full 8mb.
Anyhow, thought I'd share this for anyone else who's happy with BT and their contract is due for renewal, you should be able to haggle for the above with no bother.
