BT business hub connectivity issues

Hi, i live upstairs in the pub i work in / manage, we've just had BT business hub broadband installed, the signal is extremely poor though (for a start), i am currently sat about 6 metres away from the hub with an open door and my wifi signal is showing 2 bars out of 5! However, that's not my main problem, whilst my mobile and laptop connects fine (albeit poor signal), my LG tv and xbox won't connect. The tv finds the network, and again, shows 2 bars for signal, attempts to connect then says 'network is not connected, select a different network. I've had my tv connected successfully to my old virgin media with no problems, and even tethering from my SGS4.

Any ideas? (I'd try wired if i had a cat5 / cat6 cable, but i don't).

(I know the obvious solution is to ring BT and if i get no joy here i will, but i cba with customer services and will avoid as long as i can!
