Just wondering where to go with a problem I'm having.

The company i work for wants to get Fibre installed at their warehouse on an industrial estate that resides on a straight road. Last year we ordered fibre and after 5-6 engineers trying to install the fibre we gave up and then went with plus net just to get a connection there. An ADSL 8mbps connection.

Now, fast forward to today and we need a bit more bandwidth there so need to try and get BT to pull their fingers out of their arses and get FTTP installed for us. When we run our number now we can only get a maximum of 16mbps ADSL whereas before we could get fibre...

When i run the numbers for the companies either side of us they can get FTTP 300mbps internet.

I don't believe that we can't get FTTP as well and want to know the best way to get Open Reach, BT or anyone listening to sort the issue out as it just seems like the number is black listed.

It's almost worth asking our next door neighbours to get another line put in for us and we go that route!

EDIT - Just checked the entire road for FTTP and all addresses can get it.

If they are showing as having FTTP available then they should all have the Openreach ONTs installed. Are you sure it's not fibre-on-demand?

If i go on DSL checker and search the address it shows as 330mbps available on the entire road but ours that is smack bang in the middle! :(

If we want to advance operations at the premises we need this fibre so it's a bit of a bummer.

Please post a screenshot.

Yeah FTTP installs are renowned for being glacially slow and BT often decide that even though the checker shows available, it actually has loads of excess construction charges to go with it.

I'd post on the thinkbroadband boards, there are guys there with contacts in BT that will help you.

If you want it in a timely fashion then you're more than likely going to have to pay out for an EAD-based leased line service. 12+ month waits for FTTP are not uncommon.
