I live within sight of our local telephone Exchange and I am sure we are fed direct - ie No Cab - So I had sort of accepted when Fibre goes live here at end of 2015 I won't be on it - Have never seen a Cab this side of the exchange so assume most people are like me.

Just round corner the contractors have been renewing sewers and when they finished there on corner was a new fibre cab - BT contractors must have snuck in.

So does anyone know how this will work - there isn't an old Cab in sight - so will they redirect all direct cables into this new cab along with the Fibre cables.

I do hope so - if they don't it will leave half of village on old BB and other half with a cab on new Fibre.

It sounds as though you have lucked out - placing a new Fibre cab outside of or very close to an exchange with no old PCP is their way of dealing with Exchange only lines.

for exchange only lines being upgraded to fttc they will place a New PCP outside of the exchange or very close to it. After the pcp is installed they will install a fttc cabinet. Also u can have more then 1 pcp+fttc combo serving exchange only lines.

Depending on routing of the underground cables exchange only lines can be wired into current PCP's that have spare capacity.
