So, I had horrible problems with dropouts every few minutes last week, and having spent a good while on the phone with BT they called me back a few days ago saying they'd fixed my line and I should be getting around 10mbps. Overjoyed, I went home, looked at router stats and had something similar to this:

Great I thought, so ran a speedtest to see how amazingly fast my net was going, this was the outcome (well, this is what I did today, but it's been the same all week):

I figured I should leave it a while to let it train to find the max speed again (even though the router is suggesting it's already pretty decent), but I've noticed that the upstream now seems to be dropping out, which in turn stops me from downloading files from websites like soundcloud etc (they'll either not start, or die about 1/3 in).

This is what my router stats show when that happens:

So, before I speak to BT again, because they've made it worse to use, is there anything I can do that might sort this?

Cheers in advance.

e: I should also note, downloading Linux Distros doesn't get affected at all, and in fact give me decent-ish speeds compared to even loading websites :p

aye, definitely. just really weird how the uprate would appear to drop out, and certain downloads would work better than others (torrents wouldn't drop out even though web pages would stick or http downloads would crap out)
