Well peeps after phoning BT to cancel the BTtoGo mobile in june and just getting my new bill they are now reckoning i am on a new contract! Basically saying they moved me from anytime to option 3. End of the day i dont see why i should have to pay £160+ that they now say would be cancelation charges (what happened to the OFCOM fair fees ruling?) so did some hunting around..
Take a butchers makes for an interesting read http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/utilities/2011/08/escape-bt-contracts--beat-price-hikes

Maybe theres a realistic chance to escape for a lot of unhappy people!!

The trouble with BT, is depending on which customer service advisor you talk to, you will get told different and conflicting information. I have previously had the experience of hitting a road block with one adviser, putting the phone down, calling up again, then the next person i talk to is a smooth silky road of waived termination charges. So long as you press your point, they should eventually fold, but its a painful and degrading process. I left BT this year and because i had called up 3 days past my automatic renewal date (which i did not know about) they wanted to charge me full termination charges, cheeky sods.
