I currently had infinity in my old flat and I moved to a new area because it said it was getting enabled in Dec 12 and then it got put back to mar 13 and now it has disappeared off the checker! tried ringing openreach and they are useless keep passing me about! I am so annoyed as I moved to this new house as it was getting enabled!

has anyone had this kinda issue yet with BT infinity ??

I contacted them and caused a stink with them and my local council over this... it seems like if the dont get planning permisson the first time they leave it and dont bother trying to site the cabinet somewhere else.

You then have to wait till next year for them to reconsider where the box is to be sited and if thats not accepted you have to wait another year and so on...

I have asked the guy to esculate this and he has to the project manager in my area, be assured that I will be complaining again!

Its also worth noting that if the data of availability is ever the end of the 3rd, 6th, 9th or 12th month that this is just a holding data and there is no current date for it going live at that exchange.

I had the same thing happen to me as well. They said it would be enabled last October, which is also when I was moving.
Once I moved in, I went to go get it and it was pushed back to June or something. I just went with Virgin in the end, but they're horrible.
I'm happy I didn't wait for BT though as it's completely disappeared now.

Sometimes is vanishes from the checker as it's about to be enabled, so there might be hope yet. Find out which local cab you are on and see if an infinity cab has been installed.

I am going to have to live with 4mb as my new house is quite far from the exchange! my flat was so small but 70mb download made up for it lol!
I just dont know how they can say a date then remove it surely this would be all planned to do it before that date?
I have looked around my area and just found the old cabinets there is nothing new so I doubt its going to be enabled. I have tried ringing open reach but just keep getting transferred I want answers but no one can give me them!

BT are the biggest joke to ever grace the uk.

Burton has had FTTC for 2 years now, BT first installed my in-laws cab 1.5 years ago.

Now they will have to wait a further year to get enabled.

WBC FTTC Up to 15.5 Up to 2.3 -- 31-Mar-14

Yeah as I posted in the other thread i also moved form March 13 to 14

I used @Btcare to enquire on twitter, they called me on Saturday to say it was still showing 2013 on their system but they would try to find out more.....again

My cab is in position, power was fitted in December as they told me it would be previously but still nothing

Anyway the ASA ruling achieved exactly what i though it would, they just removed any cab which are not due for almost immediate enablement from the checker all together.

Now they don't have geeks the width of the country complaining every time they push it back 3 months, now you cant complain until 2014

They just do the easy cabinets on a new exchange, flick a switch every 6 months to give those who have it an even bigger increase and ignore the rest

I've been keeping an eye on a couple of lines where the BTW checker has shown FTTC coming. Both lines (one in Cheshire, one in Yorkshire) have slipped by 2 or 3 quarters in the past and where showing March 2013. Both now show March 2014.

From Openreach's website

Q: My cabinet has been repeatedly delayed, and now appears to have been moved from March this year to the end of your programme in 2014. Why has this happened?

A: Deploying fibre cabinets is a complex engineering challenge, which involves not only provision of fibre, but availability of power connections, planning consent for the cabinet itself in some cases, road closures, traffic management permissions and space within our duct network to make the necessary connections.

In a small number of cases we encounter problems which can delay the cabinet by several quarters, and take time to resolve; in the vast majority of cases these are caused by power provision and local planning permission. We work closely with the power companies and local authorities to minimise such delays.

In order to avoid repeatedly delaying these cabinets, we have moved their due dates to the end of our commercial programme to reduce multiple changes to the likely activation date. We will continue to seek solutions for these cabinets and where possible will activate them before the end date given.

^ so yeah in otherwards get lost until we fit the easy ones then we might look at the "to hard to do pile" in 2014

Bt called me again today, said the local contractor think early June 13 it should be done, im not holding my breath! I know they will be concentrating on the 9 or so other towns that just got added in the last batch

Exactly the same here.

Was 31/03/13. Then 31/03/14, now nothing.

Just spoke to them - No plans to activate here. The new cabinet got installed last week and the main exchange was done a couple of months ago. We are just a small village though, so low priority I guess :(
