is this router good compared to other free routers provided by ISP's? I have recently joined talk talk but wondered if its worth using the home hub instead of their router. It also has the bonus of a phone

I always found the Home Hub 2.0 to be very stable although the wireless signal wasn't as good as the adverts claim. My O2 box needs resetting at least once a week :(.

They are locked to your BT line/account but you can flash the ROM with hacked firmware. If you google 'flashing bt home hub 2.0' you will find a lot of info but as usual it is at your own risk.

I gave mine to my brother as he didn't get an upgrade when he renewed his BT contract.

just upgraded to talktalk plus 2 months ago but they didnt send me a wireless-n router so had to phone in and ask them wheres my talktalk wireless-n router. for some reason i dont see any difference between the wireless n router and the wireless g even though my laptop has wireless-n draft..

Never had a problem with a bt home hub; flashing might be a good idea. I hate BT tho; Gf internet is restricted to midnight and she gets rubbish performance. can barely stream bbc iplayer on a 6Mb line at times is down to 2Mb through out the day..... never ever again, and of course you have to use their line checker thats biased. I use speed test and it shows the actual speed then bts line checker says the line is fine so you can never win.

Ive found the Home Hub to be very good dont listen to all the BT haters that slate the Home Hub 2.0

Ive been with 3 ISPs at my current house and used there modems and 3rd party modems and had nothing but problems with all the ISPs.

BT have at last given me a stable connection with there line and Home Hub,of course they are far from perfect concerning other things.
