Well first thanks to anyone who can help me/views.

Last year my local exchange had a "problem" (one of the main cables apprantly broke so they relaid a new one) and after they fixed it i went from a heavenly 75mb/19mb to 45mb/11mb and random dc's which was a joke but after a couple of calls i got it to 56 mb with a dc once in awhile then 6 months later after a couple more calls and enough "your getting a good speed" to make me want to cry (baring in mind that this whole time it was under my contract/minimum speed of 59) they sent out an engineer who put on the new mk2 and actually helped and it got me to 69 mb which was close enough for me.

So now having had it fixed for a couple of month's i am back down too 61mb :( (i know my speed isnt exactly slow but it annoys me) and bt are back to the "your getting a good speed" routine and the annoying thing is i know or aleast have an idea what the problem is.

My vdsl line stats will not change no matter what i do it does not matter how many restarts or resets i do so i think my router or the exchange has gotten stuck or something has changed that i do not know about. (i am using a home hub 5 and it used to change the vdsl stats on a restart/reset)

Any idea's?

if you go to troubleshooting then helpdesk you can view the line info.. that maybe a good place to start?

Does sound like cross talk to me (more poeple have VDSL so more noise from 2-17mhz), DLM compensates for the change in the condition of the line, in this case the snr

Well its weird that my speed only went down after the problem at my exchange (i would have thought it would have been a gradual decline not instant)

Also restarted my router and even had it off for 1+ hour when i went out and i can not get a different speed in my line stats section so i think something is broken or "stuck".

Also got a delivery of cables today so my adsl and ethernet cable is custom length cat 6a which has improved my ping but the vdsl stats page remain's the same even though it is on a different cable so that does not seem right..

Regularly restarting your router is a really bad idea. It can cause DLM to kick-in which will drive the connection speed down.

Leave it alone for a couple of weeks and see if it sorts itself out. You aren't exactly suffering, and you must have something better to do with your time.

Also cropping your images down to a sensible size would be nice (even if it's just to comply with the forum's rules).

you are looking at the WRONG page on the router!
look at trouble shooting > helpdesk and see what the sync rate and max rate is. also the best time to restart the router is in the middle of the night just before sunrise and then leave it alone. stop restarting the router! DLM will take a good 8mbit if it enables interleaving and will take upto a month to put fast path back!

Thank you but sadly i am aware that restarting the router multiple times cause's the dlm to kick in and the result is that your sync speed and actual speed suffer my point is i can restart it all day long and i am not getting any change which seems wrong to me but i am just gonna leave it for a 1/2 weeks and see if it changes.
