BT Home Hub networking

Hi,

I wanted to know how i can connect my external hd (which can connect to the router via a network cable) and my printer to the home hub so that everyone in the house can use it. I tried googling it but couldnt come across any decent answer and bt want me to pay them in order for them to help me.

I connected both (the printer via usb and the hd via ethernet) and neither have em worked so im guessing there is a bit more that i need to do.

The printer will have to be connected to a PC that is on & shared on the network if using USB, the HDD needs some settings altering in the configuration I guess.

Only if both devices have ethernet connections can you connect them directly to the homehub. Apparently, you can connect up an external hard drive via USB, but printers definitely do not work (from personal experience).

Alternatively, if you have a PC that you keep on 24/7, you can connect both devices to it and have them shared over your internal network.
