So my dad has a BT Home Hub v.2 that he asked me to take a look at.
Supposedly it supports wireless 'n', so after upgrading adapters in his two PCs he was hoping for a nice speed increase. From what I can tell though the max speed is still limited to 54Mbps despite the 'n' classification. Indeed it seems that only the wireless range enhancements made it into the device.
On top of this disappointment if he tries to transfer files larger than about 400 megabytes, the hub kicks off all connected wireless devices until it gets a reboot.
Long story short, he can't replace it with a 3rd party device as he has opted for the BT VOIP phone service that the hub offers to establish a business line on, and would be too much ball-ache to change the number at this point.
I suppose he could add a switch, but he would prefer to keep it to one device.
Does anyone know of any tricks to solve this problem, maybe some custom firmware?
Cheers
