Is there any reason why when it gets to the early evening my wireless connection drops off, it happens to both me and my wife on our laptops, one old laptop one new. I’m just baffled every time I ring BT they do a line check and all is okay, which it will be, I think its either a faulty hub or something else. I use the connection night and day and only after 1900 hrs.

HELP.

RF pollution from people coming home and doing the same? All i got i'm afraid, what version is the hub coincidentally?

+1. I bet one of your neighbours goes online after their tea. A change of WiFi channel should sort it out a bit. However, it also just might be congestion and an exchange that can't cope with the levels of traffic at that time...are you sure it's the wireless dropping not just your whole net speed? Have you tried with a cable and seen if it improves things?

You can use Netstumbler or inSSIDer to discover what wireless channels are in use. Try to stick to using only channels 1, 6 or 11.

If the problems continue when connected via cable, try the BT speedtester at http://speedtester.bt.com/ - copy and paste what this says.
