I would be grateful if someone could recommend a replacement for my BT Homehub with modem mode.

I am using BT as my back up line in a dual wan cisco rv042g router.

dynamic dns updates my main virgin media line fine as the VM box is in modem mode, but as the BT Homehub doesn't have a modem mode it just forwards its own subnet to dyn.

I have disabled dynamic dns for the back wan 2 bt line and input the dyndns settings into the bt homehub directly, but this requires I access remotely using a different domain name if the main wan 1 goes down (often).

Thanks

See if you can get your hands on one of the older BT hubs, normally known as the 2-wire router. These can be put into modem only mode and I used it to bridge between BT and a better router (without an ADSL port).

You should be able to pick it up quite cheaply (in fact theres one on the bay for 99p with not long to go).

Thanks TheKnat & bremen1874

I bought the Vigor 120 (£50)

I'll have a play with it when I receive it and report back
