I have just installed my new BT Total Broadband, when I run the CD that came with the hub it gets as far as letting me enter my details but when it comes to checking them it says "We're sorry, but we're unable to confirm the details you entered."

I don't know what details are wrong, I've entered the details that I belive are correct and every other password I can think of but still nothing.

I rang BT but all I got from them was I don't need the CD but I don't get any icons or info regarding my connection.

Also when I ordered the package I could never check my Order tracking as again it said it didn't have the right details.

I don't have a clue what to try next, talking to the overseas help is not my Idea of fun.

Had the same problem on a friends. By the time you get that far into the instalation its already connected to the net.....or at least it was with hers. She had not recieved the letter giving username/password.

This is the page where it asks for :-

Phone number "my number"
first name "first name"
last name "last name

BT Yahoo mail "my.name" @btinternet.com

BT Yahoopassword "mypassword" the one I use to log into @btinternt.com

I have no problem getting into [email protected] so the passwaord and name must be correct but not when I go through the CD.

Yes it's connected but I don't have any of the icons or get any info.

i hate all the stupid software that the home hub come with :\

What do you mean by " I don't have any of the icons or get any info."

What info? :)

I saw a friends PC a while back that had the same package and he had a few icons and things to manage the Hub with. I had BT Broadband installed before 1mbps so really apart from still being able to connect I don't know if I'm using the upgrade or not.

I have just got a response from BT and the email says that "I've verified your records in our database and found that your broadband account is still to be completed."

I still don't know if thats something I have to do or thay have still to do it.

I hate BT.

Thanks looks like I'm still on the old slower connection. I'll have to wait for BT to reply to my last email.

quick question regarding upgrading. I upgraded my BT Broadband service from 2mb to 8mb on the 11th of December. Do i have to connect the hub to the broadband line in order to activate the service, or can i continue to use my wireless router and the service will automatically adjust itself? I've also heard it takes up to 10 days to get the full speed, is this true?

How I read it I have to activate it but could be wrong thats what I'm trying to do but it carn't find my details.

I've just had another response from BT saying that my account still hasn't been activated and that They will have to get someone to call me.

I don't know what it is with BT and passwords but they never seem to work right for me.

Just the other week I couldn't login to BTYahoo because it said my pw was incorrect(I know it wasn't) so I had to get a new one.
I wouldn't mind but this isn't the first time.

I've just had a phone call from BT and they have checked my account and it still won't be active until the 17th of December.
I couldn't find out why there is a delay, I'll just have to keep my fingers crossed this time.
