infornt of my PC
Hi
I have had BT Home Hub 3 for some time now.
I've connected several wireless devices and also my printer and xbox 360 via Ethernet.

My printer has a static IP and was seen fine by my HH3.

Then I had infinity installed. My HH3 connects to an Openreach box which now in turn connects to the phone line. Nothing else has changed. However I can no longer see my printer in the HH3 Home Networks page.

I can still connect all my other devices. I have changed the cables/ports around and still it does not see the printer. It sees my PC and Xbox in each port.

The odd thing is that I can ping the printer and get a reply. I re-installed the driver and I can print (for now) to the MFD printer.

I was wondering though. Is it worth getting a wireless print server with 4xgigabit ports? Has anyone any expertise in this area?

I would also want to print from my phones, tablets and laptops. All of which connect wirelessly but I have been reading about dual band and getting 2.5 or 5ghz, which would be great for streaming movies.

I am getting with infinity 2 73 download and 15 upload.

Can anyone throw some light in simple terms on this?

I can't imagine why you would need a wireless print server at all, seems like unnecessary expense to me. Just working out what is actually wrong should suffice. I wouldn't have bothered using a static IP on the printer, just give it a host name and have done.

Dual band would only be worth while if most/all of your have devices support 5GhZ.
