So I moved to Infinity fibre broadband a while back, and got a Homehub 3 with it.

I had, not all that long before, bought a new router - an N300.

It's only just really occurred to me - but would that router be compatible with Infinity, and would it be better?

So long as the router has a WAN port to plug in the cable from the Infinity modem then you're good to go. I'm not sure if it'll be better than the Homehub but the BT Homehubs never seem to get good write ups so suck it and see ;)

"Four (4) 10/100 Fast Ethernet ports with auto-sensing technology; one (1) Fast Ethernet port can be used as WAN port to connect to cable/fiber modem"

From the specs sheet. So yes, you ignore the ADSL port and plug a cable from the BT modem to the specific WAN port.
