BT infinity issues

Good morning all

Newbie here looking for a bit of info

When i visit my partners house at a weekend i take my Android TV box with me but once this is connected it sends the Freeview (humax) box which is also connected via to the wifi bonkers and the tv comes up as signal not strong enough and also this means all recordings made whilst the now tv box is playing are corrupted.

The internet speed runs at around 30mb so whilst its not the fastest internet connection i'm thinking it's more than ample.

I've googled into the amount of connections on the Infinity box and it says 5 wireless connections but upon counting devices connected to wifi it's an awful lot more than 5 (5 mobile phones, 2 ipads, playstation, 2 smart tv's, wireless printer, xbox one and obviously the Android tv box), although these aren't obviously all being used at the same time they are turned on.

Could this be what is causing the problem? would a wifi booster box help?

Strangely not Bremen, unless it's connected to the net it won't work for the catchup / netflix won't be available to it.

thats a very good question, I've just text messaged my partner to ask her the same question, i'll see what she comes back with because i was initially under the assumption that it wouldn't even work without internet access but like you say it should work through the aerial.

the reply back was it automatically connects, when they deny internet access for it, it won't even boot up which seems odd.

the router is a BT infinity one, the android box is just a standard android box (can't remember the model of this one), but the freeview box is a humax 4000t and upon googling it does seem that it needs internet which is odd in itself.

further to the above, it seems it doesn't require internet, so i'm not sure now... i may have to have a play with the said box when i go over this weekend.

Afternoon Avalon, it does seem it is a potential chinese pos as it was cheap enough (40 quid) but it does the trick when i'm using it at home, but it's just the problems when using it over there with all the other devices operating. we are going to have a play with the freeview box as like you say there's no reason it should require access to the internet other than for the on demand service.
