BT Infinity set up question

Hello I've ordered BT Infinity recently and have a question. I'm currently with Sky broadband and their box drops internet occasionally and I have it plugged upstairs in an extension.

When I get the BT Hub would I be able to get a 30m broadband/dsl cable to replace the one they give me so I can connect from the master socket to the hub which I'll leave upstairs? Reason for this is because I have desktops ethernet wired and prefer it that way.

I want to make sure my internet connection as stable as possible.

If possible locate the router as close to the master socket as possible and then run an Ethernet cable to the desktop. It shouldn't be any more difficult than installing a long DSL cable.

Queue bled's comment about powerline adaptors being rubbish

I would avoid TP-Link ones as they have issues with disconnections but other brands seem to work fine.
