Hi All .Got this mail from BT today might be of interest ?

NGA006/12 Notification of launch of GEA-FTTC 80/20 product variant on 10th April 2012

12/03/2012 For Information

For all Communication Providers

Openreach is pleased to confirm its intention to launch an 80/20 Mbit/s product bandwidth variant into the GEA over FTTC product portfolio, effective 10th April 2012.

This new product variant exploits the faster VDSL speeds made possible by changes rolled-out to the Access Network Frequency Plan (ANFP) at the end of 2011 and can be ordered nationally, wherever GEA over FTTC service is available.

Full details of the 80/20 product variant can be found in the GEA over FTTC product description.
Pricing for the GEA-FTTC 80/20 product variant can be found in Section 5.2.1 of the Openreach price list. Special launch offers are available as detailed in section 8.4.11 of the Openreach price list. (ACCN OR270 refers).

We can also confirm that the 80/20 trial will end on 10th April 2012.

You only just sign up for Infinity JJ & you get that.:(

Just checked my emails & nothing, wonder whether I & others will get one in next few days.:(

If they expect me to pay for the upgrade, I will just stick with my 40/10.

read this :

The 80/20 product carries a monthly price premium of £3.05 over the slowest FTTC 40/2 service for the Openreach component, but for those seeking the best peak time performance, this extra price does give you a prioritisation rate of 30 Mbps versus the old 15 Mbps if Openreach experience network congestion in a local area.

God forbid you add this to the thread about Infinity

Don,t know God but i have a friend in BT :) read this :

JJ, I wish you stick to your thread in BT Infinity & FTTx Discussion.

I'm getting all confused with all your threads here & there, no offence meant.

You will be getting those mods after you again.:p

That £3.05 specifically says that is for the Openreach component, there's still the BT retail part to add on. Seeing as 40Mb Infinity with evening and weekend calls is £26, and 100Mb Infinity with evening and weekend calls is £35, I'm placing my bets that 80Mb with evening and weekend calls is going to come in at £31.

yeah i agree which is a lot cheaper than Virgin Media :)

lol at the story about getting that via an email and your "friend" telling you the pricing.

I posted all of that information in the correct FTTx thread two days ago. The £3.05 price you quote is actually the Openreach charge to CP's over and above the 40/20 varient and has nothing to do with the cost the end user will eventually pay which will be decided by the CP's themselves.
