Bt internet is just awful, I would expect this to be the start of many problems.

I couldn't decipher anything after that 1st line though.

First of all go into add/remove programs and take off everything to do with bt yahoo applications.

Then go to start - all programs - internet explorer.

Type firefox into google and download it.

Should be it all sorted if its a router she is using.

If your connecting via a modem, i.e speedtouch 330 then just use the Shortcut for the modem to connect to the net. It will save your user-name and password for you.
Then just use IE7 or whatever internet browser to surf the net.
I uninstalled all that BT crap. Home help and the explorer.
If your on a router then you don't need it anyway.

Normal Internet explorer is still in there but BT has changed the default by the way.

Right click on the start button, properties, customize and change the default for the Internet from Bt Explorer to Internet explorer.
The icon will then change in your start menu and then you can drag it onto the desktop for faster access.

That's as much as I can answer from what description you gave. :)

I use BT's browser and aboslutely love it. I've tried Firefox and obviously IE7, but I still prefer the look of BT's. They say it's not compatible with Vista but it works happily for me.

BT's Internet explorer is IE6 with BT Yahoo addons. You should be able to save your E-mail and logon details in the inititial logon window when selecting your ICON. The only problem comes if you are not the primary account holder. But to be honest after have that crap on my PC for over a year it became more of an annoyance than help. It wasted space on my Hard disk and caused no amount of fragmantation that it even corrupted its own files. I ended up dumping the crap and signing on when I had to or just openning up IE and finding an Email server to download my E-mail sometimes without having to go to that stupid BTYahoo home page.
I finally gave up with BT Yahoo this year because of the amount of Overhead they were costing me. I am currently with Sky. But that may change next year. I am fed up with BT's empty promises. I was with Bt when they started with ISDN and went from that to Broadband with them. I then decided to wait until the new laws governing Mac codes were brought in because I knew that BT wouldn't let me go without a struggle I had been pushed all this gumpf about this BT Wireless crap on both TV E-mails and phone calls from BT but after weighing up the overheads I went with Sky. I went with them because they were offerring me 16mb at £10 a month with a free Router. Not that I use the Router but it's there if I need it. The Router works just fine but has a few things I don't like personally about it. Anyway getting back to the point. BT want you to be a slave to their system and make you think they are being helpful when they are just giving the same old, same old. The BT yahoo help always seems to want download as soon as you start your PC everyday but if you want to access the internet you have to sign in. My Daughter even found a way round their so-called Parental control mechanism by just openning up the Internet Explorer on the Desktop and directly accessing the internet. The reason the interface was put their according to BT is for Parental control. Well it failed and is absolutely useless. you can browse the internet with any browser with that still installed. But my advice is not to waste the space.

Sorry mate but because I type so damn fast for my own good sometime I loose track. and I also want to make the answer compact so I don't waste space on the forum.
But thanks for the advice and I will bare that in mind in future.
