BT Internet Sucks

how do you count how much you download in a month? i can only see where to get information for the current session... unless you leave your PC on all month, whilst connected to the internet? :o

I'm with BT, they traffic shape/strap all hours except for a few hours after midnight, I agree they suck, but I bet most ISPs are no different. Been hearing rumblings on the news lately though about the ISPs wanting to be 'more honest' about their services, 'more honest' lol didn't know there were shades of gray

RSS updated daily from Enta Billing.
There's also a 3rd party app called EntaTool which uses the same info.

1 That's because in any one family there is probably one main internet user.

2 Note to self: picking up on a factor of two difference = pedantic.

Note to you: http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/pedantic

3 100GB a month and if he genuinely doesn't use torrents then I am sorry but he is lying ;)

1. Back before my step-son moved out (part time! ;) ) with his GF there was two main Internet users and my wife's Internet use is growing fast thanks to her moving to watching "TV" on-line. I should imagine that a shared house has far more than one heavy Internet user.

2. OK I got the word wrong. So sue me. :p You assumed that they where pirates without knowing the size of the family or their Internet habits. What if one of them is a Linux with mad ISO downloads? (Disclaimer: Sarcasm)

3. Again with no knowledge of their usage you assume they are pirates and call him a liar.

Anyway they sell "Unlimited" packages so if you chose to download torrents what's it to do with your carrier. Sure it can be used for illegal activities but that has nothing to do with your ISP.

We have had the most awful experience with BT which has involved lengthy calls to India etc. etc., but the funniest one was when it started to play up, not long after we had the broadband connected. We called BT, to be told that there was no broadband in our village, so we couldn't possibly have been using it. After explaining that we had been connected for 2 weeks, we were put on hold whilst 'Paul' spoke to his supervisor. He then came back on to tell us that no, there definately wasn't broadband in the village.

And before anyone says move to someone else, we have little choice living where we do.

Makes me so glad that i use Virgin Media. (Though it does have its bad points.) I just love the fact that some companies understand unlimited is exactly that, unlimited...

Dont make me laugh, please, with VM's hard limits (STM) all day you cannot call them unlimited anymore.

But your in sheffield, are you not in an ask4 enabled area? :)

4OD is particularly bad as it's in effect a P2P app that uploads and downloads programmes whilst your computer is online.

I'm on Sky, pretty much always get 1.5mb/sec and never ever been throttled and I download huge amounts. Cost £10 a month too.

Can't complain in the slightest.

BT is awful, we ran over the cap, something like 60 gigs and the bloke that phoned us up said we must be downloading stuff pretty much all the time, which tbh isn't true and they cut our speed.

Guys, how large is a youtube music video on average?
