Hi guys - I'm currently in the process of buying a house so I'm in the middle of moving. For the next 3 months the only thing I have is my unlimited data sim in my phone to tether, which is not for gaming or downloading.

However, I noticed this evening a new BT hub wi-fi hotspot has appeared. I was hoping someone could share some experiences with this?

- Where would this be hosted, since I live in a strictly residential area?
- Are the speeds good enough for gaming / downloading
- What's the cheapest way to get BT allowance (preferably unlimited)

Thanks for responses!

The hotspot may be from a BT customers hub.
If you have any friends or family with BT you can use their login details to use the hotspot.
Not much cop for gaming tho and downloading would be a definate nono lol

Ah I see. So effectively I would be connecting to a neighbours wi-fi hotspot?

I'll have to see if I can find any friends with an account :)

Been using it for a month and a half whilst I wait for my internet. Can play online games fine most of the time. Sometimes drops. I'm on voice chat as I game and that's usually fine.

Knock on your neighbours doors and offer them some money to jump on their wifi till your broadband gets connected. At least I would. :p

Nothing. My mum has BT broadband so she gave me her details :p. Users of BT broadband get unlimited minutes. Although after 10k used, you will have to reconnect every 30 minutes. But hey it's better than nothing.
