All ISPs have a fair use policy, even unlimited ones like Virgin and Sky. Some don't enforce it, but they probably will do eventually.

I'm unsure about Virgin (i got rid of them a while ago due to their traffic management), but Sky don't have a FUP (on their Unlimited LLU service), they removed it a while ago.

Be/O2 etc do have FUPs, altho they don't enforce them, as they have enough bandwidth atm, altho they may have to enforce it some day.

So because you don't use more than 150gig, others shouldn't? :o

I'm on Be, they say it's unlimited, and it definitely is.

I've never once had a complaint from them saying I've used too much bandwith. I've been with them for around 2 years now and I'm a very heavy user.

I use steam a lot, I download a lot of TV shows/Anime etc in the highest quality, Youtube, and HD Youtube. I can and at times, I estimate I've gone pretty close to 1TB in a month.

Hundreds of GB is nothing now, especially on a 24Mb connection.

At 2.6MB/s, you could download 1.56GB in 10 minutes, in an hour that's almost 10.

I'm paying for a service, I'll use it how much and when ever I wish.

"Using it too much" is just a load of nonsense.

Thats not what I said - I'd be quite happy if home connections were designed for flat out use 24x7 but they aren't.

If your ISP don't mind you using 500gig a month for £15-20/m then fair enough but I can't stand these people who want the world and don't want to pay for it... and complain when they don't get unlimited amounts of bandwidth when they are paying an extremely cheap price for their internet.

I'm not a fan of limiting useage allowances - but as a heavy user myself I can't see how anyone can justify 100s of gigs a month unless they are a cheapskate freeloader... tho even thats a grey area as I'm not against anyone pirating based on the lack of availability and rubbish prices of the limited selection of stuff that does legally get put online.

everyone is going to hate me saying this but aol are pretty good, ok, there own software is crap(which i dont use) and there tech support a bit **** but i pay £9.99 a month for 8mb, really only receve about 4-5mb but i do download 200-400 gigs a month... been with them for nearly 10 years without problems...

Well, yes, we have one. But it will only affect you if you're downloading illegal materials, spamming, abusing the network in some way, or your usage is affecting other members.
Our service is really unlimited: you can download and upload as much as you like 24/7 and we are not doing any service shaping or capping.
The full quote, there is no limiting at all.

+1 for Bethere.co.uk

Changed from sky because they changed their cap from 40Gb to 10Gb.

Only paying 6.75 to be, because the speed their line test said I should get isn't what I do get so they gave it to me half price.

I hammer the connection and they haven't said a thing.

Difference with bethere and fair useage... atleast for now their policy is to try and engage with customers over the issue - so if useage on the overall network becomes excessive (which doesn't happen often) they will ask their customers to go a bit easier for awhile until it passes. They don't throttle or cap normally.

To my knowledge they've only had to take action against 3 people who have ignored the request to self regulate a bit and only one of those people they needed to take direct measures against.

Wow. I never thought I used that much, but over the past 8 days I've used 38GB, and I've not downloaded that much. The only thing I can think of is 4GB of oblivion mods. I'm also on BT option 3, and I do notice throttling right after I've downloaded a lot.
