bt phone line help

my bt line cut out in
the middle of a call i have rang they say the line is ok but i cant get a tone on the phone and the internet doesn't work. tried to use only the master socket but no luck there.the neighbours lines are ok. could any help me here?thanks
 
It will be a problem in the exchange/cabinet. Get them to book a fault and send a tech. If both ADSL and DEL (Line) is down, it will be an issue with them.
 
If youve got a BT NTE5 master socket (front plate splits in two) then unscrew it and remove the bottom half. This disconnects any extension wiring and reveals a master socket inside it. Plug a phone that you know works into this socket. If you get a dial tone then you have a problem with your extension wiring. If you don't then the problem lies with BT. Simple! :)
 
With this weather, it could well be a line fault of some description. If no dial tone call BT (once you've checked your equipment is ok), 0800 800 151 IIRC.
