bt phone socket wireing

mastersccket wireing ok
i took off the cover of my master box to find that there where no wires plugged into the termanls at 2 and 5 but there where wires under the other panel thats screws off i found my internet conencted faster when i plugged into the master socket. so what should i do here as i don't wanna go pulling wires out and find i have no telephone/boradband. i have pics but there to big to upload to imageshack.us

the face plate that you pulled off connects directly to the back plate and there should be no wires attached to that unless you have wired extensions to it, you are not supposed to remove the back plate, that's for BT engineers only.
Have you tried a different good quality ADSL fillter on the line, the cheap ones are just rubbish, get a good one that should make adifference.

I take it you connect to the internet via another socket in the house. If so, might be worth while checking in all the sockets removing the ring/bell wire. It goes to terminal 3 and is usually orange in colour. Then try the internet again. This has improved my speeds and stability. Although, it's still better at the Master Socket but for me, it means shifting my router and stuff, so I'll get round to it at some point. :)
 
yeah i *** but i got my m8 from next dooe hes a bt engineer and its sorta everythin out am now connection at

Didn't quite understand all of that. Are you saying a BT engineer came over and sorted everything? Do you know what he did? thanks
 
no the guy next door is a bt engineer good friends with him so i asked him to have alook and he did somthing don't ask me what but my connection is running faster plus i have like 3 more days 2 go for my 10day optmising test so hopefully will get to keep the 4meg conenction orderd new filters as well
