BT Smart Hub 2 Router replacement

Hi,



I'm a customer of BT and use BT Smart Hub 2 with 5 BT Whole home discs in my house. I have always suffered from WIFI dropouts and very low speeds. Watching iPlayer or Netflix can be very difficult on some days and I get very low speed tests results anywhere other than next to the Smart Hub.



I would like to change my BT Smart Hub 2 to a new router and then have further router throughout the house.



I was thinking of using the Asus RT ac68U 1900 for the nodes.



To replace the current BT Smart Hub 2 router, I was thinking to use the ASUS DSL ac68U.



Is this correct? Or am I barking up the wrong tree.

Is the issue actually wifi? Just if you have 5 of the whole home discs and still have issues, then something is seriously wrong. Whats your connection speed, who else is using the connection, anything hammering your upload/download?

What makes you think it is the router? I guess if you try another one you can see if the performance improves. I would not be investing in another router until you investigated more. I would test each disc one by one directly and take it from there.
