BT speed cap

Hi all,
I got BT broadband and I am quite far from exchange so my connection is about 3,5 meg and there are only 2 options of broadband here, casue my BT was crap and I had so many issues with them I decided to move to TalkTalk (this will happen in feb).
My main issue with BT is the speed/port cap they put on exacly at 19.00
almost every day I come back from work I play Warhammer online with my gf and I noticeied that all is great untill 19.00 then one of us gets kicked out.
and then when that person tries to reconnect the other one gets kicked out.
2 questions:

1. is there any point in calling bt to ask them to stop messing with my connection. and get them to disable the cap. (i feel this would be a nice chat)

2. Is it going to be the same with Talk Talk.

1 isn't going to happen. With BT now and the cap kicks in for me at about 4pm. Youtube isn't browsable etc.

I have no idea about 2. I just know 1 isnt going to happen. BT are calling me back tomorrow to see if they can tempt be to stay with another free home hub and a price of £23 a month. No chance. I'm off to UK Online for £20 a month.

well my talk tak will cost me £10 line rental and £6 internet so i thought cant be worse than BT at least i have it the cheap way

Unless you're on an exchange that got ADSL through the Exchange Activate scheme, you have dozens of choices, and they're all going to be better than TalkTalk (who are no better than BT, if not worse).

In exchange for cheap/free, you get a long contract term.

I have the same problem with BT, now between 4pm-9pm(Peak hours) i cant really do anything! youtubes so slow!

It used to be fine about 1 year ago because there wasnt as many BT broadband customers, but now its just stupid!

Mine was fine until September no slowdowns or cap unless I went over 50gig.

Then it changed and it felt like my old 0.5meg connection, even out of peak it wasn't much better.

O2 has been excellent and much faster and cheaper than BT so I should thank them really.
