Basically this is how the story goes.

Had enough of BT, rubbish service.
Phoned BT up ask for my Mac code, phone sky up give them my mac code and i sign up to them.

Next morining my bb stops working, i phone BT saying why aint it working, they say it should be my account is up and running. Sky said your internet should be still on cause we arent ready to accept you as a customer.

10 hours later on the phone to BT CS and i concede defeat and have enough of talking to the techincal help telling me to unplug the cables/power from the router. Clearly a problem with my account but they are having none of it.

I phone sky up and they say my BB will be enabled on the 28th of jan.
I decide to wait.

28th arrives and still no sky BB, i have not received my router and now they say i will have my sky broadband when sky talk starts which is 10 days away!!!!!

Phone bt back up and ask them to sort my account out and get me back online till sky are ready to take me on. Again 2 hours later no success, i realise i have a usb modem and diagnostics log. I can connect to the internet and have ADSL lights but when verifying my username and password it chucks me out. The "helpful" customer adviser then gives me a "test" username and "test" password :) i connect to the internet no problem.

He puts me through to his supervisor and he says that the problem is that as soon as i asked for my mac code BT disconnect me the next day.
Is this the case? why couldnt they tell me this 2 weeks ago rather than me being on the phone to them for 10hours +

End of Rant! :P

Anyone else have this sort of problem swapping over to different ISP's?

Cheers

Dean

had similar problem when changing from AOHELL to sky, working 1 day then nothing so suspected that hell had stopped and now with sky. as on max package decided to get engineer out to install all for free, he turns up, asks mum for router, we didn't have & thought that he would have, but didn't. roughly a week later the router arrives & finally get back online. think that took around 4 weeks to get back online

BT and Sky, probably 2 of the worst and hardest companies to deal with, both completely incompetant at everything they do. I'm not sure you've made the right move there -> from the frying pan into the fire?

exactly if u transfer to sky and it goes smoothly then you wont have any issues. Nearly all the horror stories with sky have been with customers transfering and mac codes. As well email once your on.

Well it was the price that done it for me.

£28 a month for sky/free telephone/broadband cant go wrong. Lets just hope this is a little glitch in my experience with sky :)

BT just need a collection if rockets up thier backside as their cs is shocking & the tech support, need I say more. I hope works well for ypur but if ypu dont get sorted son there are a few numbers that will help, search this forum as you will find *** chairmans office No & that will help to gain what you need.
