Im trying to find out what BT's fair usage policy is on its call plans.
I'm having no luck what so ever trying to uncover on, all i keep coming across is a 'fair amount for residential user'.

Anyone have any idea where i can find the details?

We're on the unlimited one and we get capped when we download excessively during the day. As long as we keep all heavy usage to the early hours of the morning we seem to keep good speeds during the day.

Although having said that, even something like 4OD for a few hours during the day seems to constitute "unfair usage" according to BT.

I was told that your account gets hit with a restrictions at around the 60GB mark. Might be more if you only download during early hours (2am).

It says call plans, not internet? Am I reading this right?

Yep - hehe people cant read :) Or maybe dont really notice that unlimited isn't unlimited.

from what i can tell BT unlimited, is limited to around 3000 minutes of 'free' talking a month.

There is no such thing as unlimited in telecoms - either internet, phone, SMS, whatever. Or, if there still is, you can be absolutely sure someone will abuse it and what you thought was unlimited now won't be soon.

I can't find anything explicit in the telephony terms other than using the service 'other than for its intended purpose'.

It definitely is NOT unlimited and don't let anyone in BT tell you otherwise.

I had to leave them 12 months ago because they capped my 8128kbps line to dialup speeds after 5pm in the evenings. It was so damn slow that I couldn't even watch youtube videos or anything.

You are better going with an ISP like ADSL24 which does limit you, but at least you know exactly where you stand, and there is no port blocking, fair usage policies or any of that rubbish.

Dear god, that me + berserker who have read the OP correctly.

OP is not talking about BT internet, OP is talking about BT 'unlimited' call plans.

u didn't read the small print then obviously, and if u were capped it was cause u exceeded the limit which means u been downloading an awful lot and am willing to bet it wasn't cooking videos.

they only cap it at peak hours, just to do you over hahaha

Depends what your going on about?

Call plans, as others have stated, im sure in telephone call plans its 59mins talk time, hang up before the hour is up and then just call them back. If you do that you wont get billed.

ISP wise its a fair usage policy. What they consider to be fair usage i am unsure of.
