Hey, need some help with some bt wiring. My cable at the mo has a black, yellow, red and blue wires. The socket i want to install is one of those all in one adsl/phone boxes. it says bt open reach v1. It just has the A and B connections. Which colours do i use? Tried lookong on the intermet but havent had much luck.

It depends which ones are activated. It can vary. Way I did it was using a wired phone, and checking which of the two wires are active.

What type of socket have you got at this point?
Is there any markings or logos on it?

Also is there a "Test Socket" if the 2 screws are closer to the bottom of the socket and a line running left to right above the screws there is a test socket and so you dont need to change the wiring to fit one of the bt Openreach v1

On the Openreach v1 box the front cover can be removed, then the filter part this should just fit over the top of the back plate of your socket once you remove the front faceplate.

Cheers guys. I've just tried the other socket which is in the house, it seems to be working. I guess it's a line fault outside the house, i'm going to get an engineer out i think. Get him to look over everything and try and speed up the connection if possible.
